IFS / Parts work Training for professionals

Take Your IFS / Parts Work to the Next Level

Who This Is For

I offer educational cohorts for motivated therapists & allied practitioners who want to utilize IFS / Parts Work in their client sessions.

The ideal candidate for this training is someone who is self-motivated around parts work and who has already done some level of exploration around the topic.

This is an in-depth exploration on how to start working with client parts today – not a superficial introduction to the topic. There are many videos and more online the cover the basics of IFS theory. This course, alternatively, is meant to help motivated individuals start to learn critical IFS / parts work skills by taking deep dives into different parts of the subject.

Covered topics include:

  • Learn and understand parts theory
  • Learn how to identify and work with managers, firefighters, and exiles
  • Learn how to navigate & resolve common issues
  • Learn how to help clients build felt relationships with their parts instead of just mentally understanding them
  • Learn how to help clients unblend
  • Learn how to unblend from your own parts & learn why certain client behavior activates you

Who This Is Not For

  • Those who only want a basic introduction to parts work. This is training is for people who want an in-depth introduction. If you just want a superficial introduction there are many amazing videos on youtube that cover this. In contrast, this training focuses on people who are looking to take a “deep dive” into the material. This is more than a simple introduction.
  • Those who have not exposed themselves to anything related to IFS or parts work (Note: Recommended reading is offered.) I assume you’re curious about this work and have already begun to act on that curiosity. While there is zero expectation of you being an expert (you’re here to learn!), terms like “manager,” “firefighter,” or “exile” should not be totally new.
  • Those who want to learn without participating. This is a didactic and experiential class. You won’t just learn about parts work; you’ll be doing it. Everyone will act as both the facilitator and the client while working under supervision. The best way to learn is by doing.
  • Those who are not working with clients. Our two-week interval assumes that you’ll gain practice by slowly introducing this into your client work as you feel comfortable. Doing IFS in real-life is very different than in training environments. Learn, test your new skills in the real-world, and come back with comments & questions and receive support.

My Training Philosophy

I am only interested in teaching things that can be immediately used in practice.

Everything in this training will have have real-life application. For example, most IFS / parts work trainings start with meditation. But since most of us don’t start client sessions with meditation, we won’t do this. Instead, we’ll begin our sessions with a grounding exercise that exactly matches what you’ll do with clients – allowing us to personally benefit and learn simultaneously.

My goal is to help you build a foundation that will make you successful in this work as soon as possible.

I have done my best to condense years of training and experience into a curriculum that focuses on the most useful foundational techniques I use daily with clients – thus saving you the years of trial and error I had to go through.

We will go beyond book learning to discuss real-life scenarios, common challenges, and learn how to navigate situations that can stump even experienced practitioners.

Let's Get In Touch

"But what about the healing steps?"

While the healing steps (aka “unburdenings”) are a vital part of IFS and parts work, they go beyond the scope of this learning cohort. Our aim is to help individuals master fundamental skills, skills which must be solid before attempting healing work. I hope to provide group training on unburdenings in the future. However, individuals are welcome to contact me regarding private training in this area.

My IFS Background

While I use multiple modalities with clients, IFS has become my tool of choice since 2021.

I am a Certified Level 3 Practitioner which is the highest degree of official training possible. My lead trainers (in order) were Paul Ginter, Pam Krause, and Dick Schwartz. I’ve done significant additional training, especially around shame, working with difficult protectors, legacy & ancestral work, somatic work, and spiritual burdens. My caseload has historically focused on working with men (20s – 60s) who feel chronically “not enough” regardless of external success, those who struggle with high shame and self-criticism, individuals with recent immigration history (especially from East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East), and individuals with legacy / ancestral / inter-generational wounding. I also specialize in working with Unattached Burdens aka “critters.”

I am the only IFS practitioner I am aware of who focuses solely on working with men around shame & relational trauma. I have worked with men in this capacity for over a decade. My speciality is helping men repair the relationship they have with themselves so they can improve the relationships they have with others and bring their light to the world.

I have been an IFS client for the same amount of time as I’ve been a practitioner and can speak to both its efficacy and limitations from a personal and professional standpoint. If you have any further questions about myself or this work please don’t hesitate to ask.
